Description

:pokeball: First try. Made in Maya 2012.

I saw some 3D pokeballs floating around here on dA, and I thought "looks simple enough" So I took a whack at it. ^^;

I'm not the best at 3D, so please feel free to give a critique or leave a comment ^^ The good old classic loyal pokeball. :dummy:

~Edit:
Thanks for all the feedback guys! I'll definitely use the advice I've gotten for future attempts! ^^

~Edit 2:
I know you guys are trying to help but, STOP SAYING IT'S NOT SMOOTH. I KNOW IT IS NOT SMOOTH. xD Trust me, the first 50 comments were enough thank you ^^;

For a first try this is awesome looking forward to your next work.

Nevertheless, I would recommend to increase the polygon count. You can always change the subdivisions in the input section of the channel box, that will also give you more polygons, therefore a better poke ball. That way you don't have to keep on reading those dreadful comments. This applies to any modeling software it does not matter if it is Cinema 4D the one I use, or Maya.

Another suggestion is to remove reflections on the floor, not only it will make the reflexions on the "poke ball" pop, but as the machine does not have to recalculate than many reflexions it will take less rendering time, and that's always a relief.

If you decide to repost this work with the changes let me know. Looking forward to it.
